The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) is an independent nation, with an especially strong and positive relationship with Japan. In fact, 20% of the people there have Japanese ancestry, including President Mori.
Following the promulgation last December of the FSM’s Captive Insurance regulations, the FSM has now added a Captive Insurance regime to its Japanese-friendly foreign investment program, which has already attracted a number of major Japanese organizations to establish FSM corporations to facilitate their overseas investments into third countries.
While the FSM has recently hosted several delegations of visitors from Japanese organizations, including multiple visits by multinationals and certain owners of captive insurance companies who are considering redomesticating or moving their Captive to the FSM, the FSM Embassy and the Government of the Federated States of Micronesia are now inviting interested members of the Japanese business community to learn more about the FSM and its business friendly and long-term reliable Captive Insurance regime at the following Seminar in Tokyo on May 26, 2009. The FSM is honored to have as co-sponsors for this event: UNIDO, JETRO, and the FSM Captive Insurance Council.
